The 服装设计与制作 program is a joint program between the Department of 家庭与消费者科学 (FCS) 和 the 戏剧系 (混乱关系).

Through the combined study of theatre, 服装设计, 服装结构, 服装的历史, 以及戏剧史, we prepare students to become costumers, 衣橱管理人员, costume technicians 和 costume designers in professional theatre, 电影, 或者其他表演类型.

Note: This major 和 minor are found in TRE 和 FCS. Be advised that these programs are identical in scope 和 requirement. If you take a major in one department 和 would like to add a minor, it must be in the other department. 例如, if you are majoring in FCS Apparel Merch和ising 和 would like to minor in 服装设计与制作, you would need to take that minor as a TRE.

• A minimum 88 credits are required for this major, including 36 upper-division credits.
• A minimum 35 credits are required for this minor, including 15 upper-division credits.
• This major requires completion of the 家庭与消费者科学 Core, 其中包括:
• FCS 3240 Individual 和 Family Development.
• FCS 4899 Senior Capstone, completed after FCS 3240 和 during your senior year.
• Core major courses from the 家庭与消费者科学 Department include 历史 of Costume, Textiles, 和 Flat Pattern Design.
• Core courses from the 剧院 Department include Stagecraft, P Analyzing 和 Interpreting 剧院, 和 Production Practicum.

申请主修或辅修

• 申请这个专业或辅修 by your junior year, using the online 主修或副修申请.
• 如果你是新生, you may apply for the major at the end of your first quarter of your sophomore year.
• 如果你是转校生, you may apply to the major in your second quarter at the university.
• You are required to have successfully completed three courses from the core requirements, which must include FCS 1840 Basic Clothing Construction.
• 你的申请截止了 on or before the first Friday of Autumn, Winter, or Spring quarter.
• 教员必须批准 all admissions to the major 和 minor.
• Your overall GPA must be a minimum of 2.5 和 you must have successfully completed three FCS课程 to be eligible to apply for the 服装设计与制作 major. 
• You must complete the major or minor requirements based on the date you are admitted to the major or minor.
